Abstract

In this paper a novel application of the Boundary Element Method (BEM) to nonlinear acoustic field is presented. The resulting integral equations require the evaluation of a domain integral. The Dual Reciprocity Boundary Element Method is used to transfer the domain integral to boundary integrals. Both the linear and nonlinear formulations of the acoustic BEM are described. The proposed nonlinear formulation is tested for different basis functions and compared to analytical solutions
