The organization of technology from the perspective of a Middle Paleolithic settlement system: new insights from the Italian Alps.

This work takes into consideration the spatial dimension of lithic technology as indicator of the human groups mobility during the recent Middle Palaeolithic. This analytic path has been applied to some cases in Italian Alps differing by their topographic position, geo-lithological context, geographic and palaeoenvironmental context. Data suggest complementary situations in the ambit of the settlement site systems that can be referred to anticipation capabilities and logistic organization.
