This article offers an original and critical exploration of the intersections between Johann Gottlieb Fichte’s transcendental philosophy and Michel Henry’s material phenomenology, with a particular emphasis on their conceptions of the Absolute and immanence. By situating these thinkers within the broader historical and hermeneutical frameworks of German Idealism and 20th-century French phenomenology, the study demonstrates how Fichte’s late philosophical works provide key insights for addressing the ontological and phenomenological challenges posed by Henry’s approach. Employing a rigorous phenomenological methodology, the article systematically examines the conceptual and historical linkages between Fichte’s theory of appearance and Henry’s critique of representation. It highlights how the asymmetry between the Absolute and its manifestation, a central theme in both thinkers, enables a reevaluation of foundational phenomenological concepts such as life, self-revelation, and the relationship between ontology and existence. This study contributes to contemporary debates on the legacy of German Idealism in modern phenomenology and offers a theoretical framework with broader interdisciplinary implications. Its critical engagement with Fichte and Henry opens pathways for refining phenomenological approaches to the Absolute, positioning the study as a pivotal resource for advancing philosophical inquiry in this domain.

Abstract
Its critical engagement with Fichte and Henry opens pathways for refining phenomenological approaches to the Absolute, positioning the study as a pivotal resource for advancing philosophical inquiry in this domain.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
