Takab metamorphic complex as a part of Sanadaj- Sirjan area is located in Iran. It consists of different rock units with different ages mostly Neoproterozoic to Cambrian. This paper aims to investigate the Baba Nazar Skarn that is found replacing limestone beds adjacent to quartz porphyrye intrusive. The main mineral association represent in calcic skarn zone is composed of clino-pyroxene–magnetite skarn, clin-opyroxene–garnet skarn, and garnet skarn The characteristic feature of this skarn is the presence of coarse grained green garnet minerals that are used as gem. these garnets often are subhedral and commonly contain quartz and epidote as an inclusion and abundant fractures, filled by quartz and calcite and has been partly retrograded to chlorite. The garnet always is associated with clino pyroxene, tremolite- actinolite, calcite, quartz, plagioclase, sphene and variable opaque minerals. Prvious study duccumented that garnets contain chromium. Scanning electron microscope studies show that not only garnet, but the other minerals such as epidote, pyroxene, amphibole, even calcite also had tended to have a chromium content, while, garnets in the other rock unites such as garnet metapelites and garnet metabasites in the area are free in chromium. rock composition contains 0.2 to 2.5 % chromium in skarn. This value is more than Cr content in serpentinite(0.18- 0.24%) and pyroxenite(0.17-0.23%) in this area.
