Many Web 2.0 formats have been adopted in language classrooms. Wikis and blogs are two prominent Web 2.0 features that have recently become the subject of inquiry in an emerging thread of language learning research. This paper concentrates on the research that has explored these two formats with language learners in order to highlight the potential for Web tools to foster collaborative classroom communities and to privilege expression, creativity and voice.
