Abstract

The present paper intends to couple the Fast Multipole Method with the Boundary Element Method in 2D inverse acoustic problems. The procedure is aimed at simplifying the integrals involved in the governing Boundary Integral Equations on the basis of the multipole expansion. The approach makes the determination of the governing unknowns and of their sensitivities much faster if compared to the conventional approach.
