The area of Mondeval de Sora has represented a territory of summer occupation for the groups of hunter-gatherers who occupied the Southern Alps in the Mesolithic. The site, located under a dolomite boulder, has been occupied both in the Sauveterrian and the Castelnovian and its specific features show that it was used as a base-camp for carriying out different subsistence activities in the surroung area.
