Recently, Jeukendrup and co-workers criticize the validity of the concept of the heart rate deflection point as proposed by Conconi et al. In this letter we confirm the validity of the Conconi test as a mean of indirect determination of the anaerobic threshold supported by biochemical and physiological considerations.
