In this paper we aim to design a self-oscillating DC/DC boost converter operating in continuous-conduction mode using an hysteretic control, using a chaos-based signal processing approach to improve EMC of the converter. We analyze the effectiveness of this technique both by computing the Power Density Spectrum of the inductor current and by experimental results. We show that the proposed chaos-based scheme can be chosen to greatly enhance the EMC of the systems with no degradation in the converter performance.

Abstract

In this paper we aim to design a self-oscillating DC/DC boost converter operating in continuous-conduction mode using an hysteretic control, using a chaos-based signal processing approach to improve EMC of the converter. We analyze the effectiveness of this technique both by computing the Power Density Spectrum of the inductor current and by experimental results. We show that the proposed chaos-based scheme can be chosen to greatly enhance the EMC of the systems with no degradation in the converter performance.
