The main aim is to improve the integrated understanding of scientific subjects by the development of research-based teaching methods and materials (for pupils from age 10 to 16), in close collaboration with in-service teachers. The ISSUE - project focuses on the teaching of scientific issues that require an integration of several subjects for understanding, such as e.g. nutrition, hearing, seasons, symmetries, colors and others.

Abstract
