New square-pyramidal oxotechnetium(V) complexes of the type [TcO(Cl)(L)], and octahedral technetium(III) complexes of the type TcCl2(HL)(PPh3)2], where L and HL indicate respectively the dianionic tridentate and the monoanionic bidentate forms of a Schiff-base ligand derived from the methyl ester of dithiocarbazic acid, have been synthesized and characterized. The crystal structures of the compounds [TcO(Cl)(L6)][H2L6 = S-methyl 3-(2′-hydroxy-1′-naphthylmethylene)-dithiocarbazate] and [TcCl2(HL1)(PPh3)2]·CH 2Cl2 [H2L1 = S-methyl 3-(2′-hydroxybenzylidene)dithiocarbazate] have been determined.
