The E-W trending Souli Fault exhibits geological evidence of past individual coseismic events. Along some sectors of the fault, young morphotectonic features have been recognized thereby emphasising the recent tectonic activity. At least three distinct events pre- and post-dating wedge layers of 20 ka to 26 ka lignite-type sediments have been recognised.
