Health Sociology as an Epistemic Observatory: Artificial Intelligence and the Transformation of the Regimes of Knowledge

This article examines Artificial Intelligence as a key element in the transformation of contemporary regimes of knowledge production. Drawing on the sociology of health as a privileged epistemic standpoint, it explores how computational infrastructures participate in making social reality observable, classifiable, and recognizable as legitimate knowledge. Particular attention is paid to the ways AI may reshape the conditions through which phenomena emerge as objects of sociological inquiry. The article argues for renewed epistemic reflexivity in sociology, capable of critically examining not only its objects of study but also the infrastructures and processes that contribute to their construction.
