Using $(2.712 \pm 0.014)\times10^{9}$ $\psi(3686)$ events collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider, we report evidence for transverse polarization of the $\Xi^0$ hyperon with a significance of $4.4\sigma$, together with a precise measurement of the branching fraction and the ratio between the $S$-wave and $D$-wave amplitudes in the decay $\psi(3686)\to\Xi^0\bar{\Xi}^0$. The weak decay parameters $(\phi_{\Xi^0/\bar{\Xi}^0},\,\alpha_{\Xi^0/\bar{\Xi}^0})$ and the angular distribution parameter $\alpha_{\psi}$ are also measured with improved precision compared to previous measurements. Furthermore, the two $CP$ observables are determined to be $$A_{CP}^{\Xi^0} = -0.014 \pm 0.030\,(\mathrm{stat}) \pm 0.010\,(\mathrm{syst})$$ and $$\Delta\phi_{CP}^{\Xi^0} = 0.000 \pm 0.028\,(\mathrm{stat}) \pm 0.003\,(\mathrm{syst})~\mathrm{rad},$$ which are consistent with $CP$ conservation within $1\sigma$ under the current statistical precision.
