This paper presents a User Research activity linked to the inclusive design of interactive IoT products for private and collective residential use, for an extended user base. The research focuses on the use of participatory co-design practices using a holistic and inclusive approach, such as Design for All and Design for Inclusion, to put the needs of a heterogeneous group of users at the center of research. The aim of the contribution is to describe the methodological process, tools and strategies of the inclusive co-design model, to highlight the benefits of this research practice, to allow the research to identify special and uncommon accessibility issues, able to expand accessibility towards a group of users as extensive and diversified as possible.
