The Erbario Estense is the subject of new studies by researchers from the universities of Emilia-Romagna, in collaboration with the State Archives of Modena (ASMo), which preserves the 16th-century handwork, probably made in Ferrara under the Este domain and composed of over 180 exsiccata. To make this precious object known, hitherto reserved only for experts, ASMo and UNIMORE propose an educational itinerary, which also involves the great biodiversity of the flora of the center of Modena, where there are plants (especially weeds s.l.) that are often found in the herbarium. In addition, the internal courtyard of the Archive is being redeveloped, to create a connection with the herbarium and thus offer new opportunities for development of the educational path.
