Laboratorio Morseletto is one of the most original and experienced cases of Italian excellence. Operating in Vicenza, but on a national and international scale, since the early 1900s, across three generations of family ownership the workshop has focused on the production of all types of objects, sculptures, finishes and furnishings in stone and marble, as well as floors made with a wide range of techniques – Terrazzo alla veneziana, Palladiana, mosaic, inlaid stone – and surface finishes such as marmorino, stucco and smoothed concrete. The firm is also active in the conservation and restoration of historic and modern works of art and architecture. Over the span of one century, the most renowned architects and many artists, along with the most demanding clients from all over the world, have relied on the workshop’s “art of making” practiced in creative and productive terms. The reasons behind the workshop’s success and the constant demand for its services lie in the peerless quality of its production, carried out with age-old methods that are nevertheless deployed in a constantly innovative way, in keeping with a passion for the finest workmanship. The book reconstructs this story by analyzing the peculiarities of it and its connection with the fields of art and architecture.
