Plastic pollution represents nowadays one of the global environmental issues. The definition and quantification of all the potential sources remains difficult to manage, considering the high number of variables. On the other hand, many projects in the last years acquired data in situ on plastic composition and distribution in coastal and marine environments. The connection between plastic sources and destination, as well as the prediction of the amount of plastics that potentially reach coastal zones, is indeed a difficult and uncertain task.

Abstract
Plastic pollution represents nowadays one of the global environmental issues. The definition and quantification of all the potential sources remains difficult to manage, considering the high number of variables. On the other hand, many projects in the last years acquired data in situ on plastic composition and distribution in coastal and marine environments. The connection between plastic sources and destination, as well as the prediction of the amount of plastics that potentially reach coastal zones, is indeed a difficult and uncertain task.File in questo prodotto:
