The coastal landscape here results in a complex system that spans three provinces and interweaves environmental, building, industrial, and identity values of absolute importance. Overcoming the rapid growth of the second half of the twentieth century, the Romagna coast-the Riviera-has evolved into a single agglomeration-the metropoliriviera -called upon today to rethink itself through alternative development models to mass beach tourism.
