Città giusta. Modelli di cittadinanza e sfide urbane nel XX secolo

Will cities be “suitable” to compete in the global economy, megalopolises like in Blade Runner, or will they be “fair” cities, places where women and men can live with justice? This paper starts with this question and seeks to analyse, on the one hand, the dynamics of the global economy and the geopolitical scenarios produced by megalopolises, and on the other hand urban practices, hypothesising models of citizenship in the near future.

Le città saranno ‘giuste’ per competere nell’economia globale, megalopoli alla ‘Blade Runner’, oppure saranno città ‘giuste’, luoghi in cui donne e uomini potranno iscrivere le loro vite con ‘giustizia’? Il presente saggio, partendo da tale quesito si pone l’obiettivo di analizzare da un lato le dinamiche dell’economia globale e gli scenari geopolitici da esse aperti, dall’altro pratiche urbane, per ipotizzare i modelli di cittadinanza del futuro prossimo. Will cities be ‘suitable’ to compete in the global economy, megalopolises such as ‘Blade Runner’, or will they be ‘just’ cities, places where women and men can live with ‘justice’? The present essay, starting from this question, aims to analyze on the one hand the dynamics of the global economy and the geopolitical scenarios produced by the megalopolises, on the other urban practices, to hypothesize the models of citizenship of the near future.
