One of the advantages of Thoracic Ultrasound (TUS) is that it can be done with the same equipn1ent con1n1only used in abdon1inal or n1uscutoskeletal echography; however, a specifìc methodological approach that takes into consideration the pa1ticular methodical challenges and objectives is advantageous. After having discussed some indispensable n1ethodological considerations, we will then consider the study of the chest wall and the structures contained in the thorax. Finally, we will present a few aspects relative to conducting exams in criticai patients and newborns.
