In the implementation of Directive EU 2019/770 on the supply of Digital Content and Digital Services (hereinafter: DCD) and Directive EU 2019/771 on the Sale of Goods (hereinafter: SGD) the Italian legislator did choose to deal with consumer law outside the Civil Code. DCD and SGD were implemented, by, respectively, Legislative Decree (hereinafter: LD) no 173 1 and LD no 170 of 4 November 2021. This contribution analyzes the impact of the implementation on the Italian legal system.
