Sustainable development incorporates a principle, in particular, a legal element, whose content does not always appear clear. Nonetheless, the concept of sustainable development performs a role whose importance is growing, representing not only the core principle of the protection of the biosphere, ecosystems and the landscape, but also a legal status of the legality of acts and the exercise of the authoritative powers. In this picture, it increasingly tends to appear as the legislative is almost recessive, compared to the increasing influence that the judicial law now expresses. The author, in particular, notes the close connection between sustainable development and economic literature, in particular, in the context of increasing environmental governance, which creates not only a unifying function, but a dominant role. This is not comparable, of course, to the role of other principles expressed within the framework of EU law.
