Abstract
Some events of the musical life of the Jewish community of Ferrara in the first half of the twentieth century have been identified in archival research, diaries, memoirs, and letters, as well as a collection of interviews. Starting from the institutions of musical training, the importance of piano practice has been highlighted, along with the emblem of the bourgeois salons, and the choral practice that, together with the liturgical music, constituted the greatest moment of collective expression and identity. The processes of acculturation and the dramatic caesura caused by racial legislation of 1938 are the common thread of this discussion.I documenti in SFERA sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
