This article investigates the relationship between the concepts of politically correct, politeness and euphemism from a comprehensive and cross-lingual perspective. The role of the politically (in)correct and the (im)politeness, regarded as communicative complexity-reducing rituals partly based on euphemisms and dysphemisms, is illustrated by selected exemples coming from different text types within the business communication and the communication of economic policy decisions.
