The aim of this work is to develop a new class of Mn(II)-dithiocarbamates complexes potentially used as magnetic resonance imaging contrast media. This work was born within the METRICS project (acronym for Multimodal pET/mRi Imaging with Cyclotron-produced 51/52Mn iSotopes), which aims to develop the technology needed to obtain a cyclotron-driven production of 51/52Mn PET radionuclides and to achieve PET/MRI hybrid imaging in combi- nation with paramagnetic Mn(II) compounds.
