We would like to highlight the role of transoral laser microsurgery (TLM), particularly assessing margin status as a prognostic factor for: 1) the local control of the disease; 2) the organ preservation; 3) the overall survival, of patients with early glottic cancer (EG C). Retrospective study. The clinical records of 137 patients affected by primary EG C (cTis, cT1a, cT1b, cN0, cM0), and consecutively managed by TLM at our ENT Department from January 2000 to December 2015, were reviewed. Exclusions criteria: patients previously treated surgically or by exclusive radiotherapy (RT); cordectomies after 2015, in order to maximize the follow-up time (60months)
