Oltre la contaminazione. Dal progetto dello spazio al progetto del suono: legami, analogie e affinità di pensiero [Beyond the contamination.From the design of space to the design of sound: Links, analogies and affinities]

Among the possible disciplinary contaminations in the artistic field, that between the art of design and musical production is by far one of the most fruitful and rich in cultural-historical values. There are many musicians who have studied as designers and vice versa: Iannis Xenakis, Demetrio Stratos, Ed-oardo Bennato, Claudio Baglioni, Lorenzo Palmeri. The aforementioned Xenakis proposed in his meta-artistic theory the concept that an artistic expression based on mathematical calculation can be realized regardless of the type of media used. But we cannot limit ourselves to the medium: architecture and mu-sic are not just mathematics. A thorough analysis of the attitudinal, behavioral, and technical character-istics between the two fields reveals that it is often not just a matter of contamination, but that deep af-finities exist between the designer and the musician.

Tra le possibili contaminazioni disciplinari in campo artistico, quella tra l’arte del progetto e la produ-zione musicale è in assoluto una tra la più proficue e ricche di valori storico-culturali. Esistono molti mu-sicisti che hanno studiato da progettisti e viceversa: Iannis Xenakis, Demetrio Stratos, Edoardo Bennato, Claudio Baglioni, Lorenzo Palmeri. Il citato Xenakis propose nella sua teoria meta-artistica il concetto secondo il quale un'espressione artistica basata su un calcolo matematico può essere realizzata indiffe-rentemente dal tipo di media utilizzato. Ma non pos-siamo limitarci al mezzo: architettura e musica non sono solo matematica. Un’analisi approfondita delle caratteristiche attitudinali, comportamentali, di ap-proccio tecnico tra i due ambiti rivela che spesso non si tratta solo di contaminazione, ma che tra il pro-gettista (architetto, designer, …) e il musicista esi-stono profonde affinità.
