The study of pigments is one of most active field of research within the field of Art History. Considering that several studies have been published on the analysis of pigments, the application of these techniques has been extended to other types of artefacts and rocks panels. In recent decades an innovative and multi-disciplined oriented line of research in Archaeology has developed.
