This research project, launched in 2018, aims to identify the various implications of a socio-anthropological nature attributable to one of the environmental disasters that took place in the Veneto Region, Italy, in relation to the contamination of carcinogenic chemical elements belonging to the Pfas chemical group. Through an episodic reconstruction of the events, from the contamination to the current state of the area, the transversal and multidisciplinary study approach allowed to determine specific thematic areas such as social risk analysis, emergency intervention processes, sociological and value implications useful to identify the socio-topical vulnerability of the affected territory and the resulting socio-cultural consequences. The specific literature related to critical events and the ethnographic experience structured on a method based on the social interview, represented a process of information gathering leading to a summative elaboration reaching a temporal contextualisation of the historical facts and of all the actors involved: from institutions to single citizens. The multiple perception of the phenomenon, the multifactorial linked to the social, environmental, economic, cultural and clinical consequences, demonstrated how the concept of resilience is relatively and residually applicable: the full capacity to acquire a new stabilisation, the reconfiguration of values, the implications of new cultural models, the actualization of behavioural patterns, urban modifications and inflections in the real estate market. The new social scenario configured represents a new situational context characterised by experiences and emotional equipment that are profoundly linked to the disaster, for which the socio-anthropological approach has represented a unique and experimental study, highlighting how the interruption of the linearity of events, temporally consolidated and reassuring, has formalised a new model of everyday life and actions, altering social, relational, affective and emotional balances.
