The closure of public space, radicalized during the covid-19 pandemic, does not have its origin in the need to cope with the health crisis. It is possible to grasp a sort of trend that in the last two decades has led to the increasingly stringent reg- ulation of the relationship between people and space, arriving during the pandem- ic to the detailed determination of the possibilities of access to public and private places, as well as mobility in - and between – cities. This essay briefly investigates these dynamics, starting from the relationship between the progressive affirmation of an emerging paradigm of confinement, the re-signification of private space, the closure of public space and the differentiation of subjectivities.

Abstract
The closure of public space, radicalized during the covid-19 pandemic, does not have its origin in the need to cope with the health crisis. It is possible to grasp a sort of trend that in the last two decades has led to the increasingly stringent reg- ulation of the relationship between people and space, arriving during the pandem- ic to the detailed determination of the possibilities of access to public and private places, as well as mobility in - and between – cities. This essay briefly investigates these dynamics, starting from the relationship between the progressive affirmation of an emerging paradigm of confinement, the re-signification of private space, the closure of public space and the differentiation of subjectivities.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
