A specific and sensitive indirect ELISA method with two linear synthetic peptides/mimotopes, mimicking the MCPyV VP1/VP2 antigens to detect circulating IgGs against MCPyV immunogenic antigens in AD patients was developed and validate. Two linear synthetic peptides, named MCPyV VP1 S and VP2 F (S/F peptides), were designed and employed in indirect ELISA as mimotopes to detect anti-MCPyV IgGs.
