Abstract

The cities express some characteristics through the meas- urement of widely shared parameters regardless of the places in which they are applied. The administration of digitization and utilities’ networks and the related data traffic raises the problem of protecting the democratic management of the latter. The encouragement to give voice to initiatives from below can be a kind of compensation for the partial loss of indi- vidual sovereignty that can occur with the application of technologies managed by large companies. Returning to being a community and returning to dealing with real objectives and places also through digital technolo- gies can be a strategy in order to rethink pieces of urban life.
