The Covid-19 pandemic confronts us with complex issues and choices regarding the vulnerability of individuals. The pandemic emergency requires decisions to protect life and health. It limits our freedoms. The limitations, however, must occur by evaluating the proportionality and adequacy of the interventions. Here the balancing approach comes to the fore, starting with the recognition of the intertwining of freedom and responsibility and the solidarity commitments that cannot be renounced in our legal-political organizations.
