The Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) sector is constantly evolving and plays a decisive role in the strategies of digitization of cultural heritage in which Italy, like the other Countries of the European Community, plans to invest considerable resources. The new technologies in the field of Virtual, Augmented and Mixed Reality, the procedures for the realization of interactive and interoperable three-dimensional models, the experimentation in the field of Artificial Intelligence, offer the tools for new ways to access and understand the architectural heritage. The paper examines these themes illustrating the results of the European research project "INCEPTION - Inclusive Cultural Heritage in Europe through 3D semantic model" funded by the European Commission under the Horizon 2020 programme.

Abstract
The Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) sector is constantly evolving and plays a decisive role in the strategies of digitization of cultural heritage in which Italy, like the other Countries of the European Community, plans to invest considerable resources. The new technologies in the field of Virtual, Augmented and Mixed Reality, the procedures for the realization of interactive and interoperable three-dimensional models, the experimentation in the field of Artificial Intelligence, offer the tools for new ways to access and understand the architectural heritage. The paper examines these themes illustrating the results of the European research project "INCEPTION - Inclusive Cultural Heritage in Europe through 3D semantic model" funded by the European Commission under the Horizon 2020 programme.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
