Most of us are convinced that the current crisis due to the infection is profoundly changing the relational and emotional aspects of people and is rapidly involving the economic, social, cultural sphere and consequently architecture, becoming an opportunity for the necessary renewal. In recent history, periods of crisis have been a formidable impulse to reconfigure society and the space in which we live. To the crisis linked to the spread of the virus, which has as its effect the social distancing and the loss of collective sociality, must be added those ones concerned to the economic crisis of the start of new century, the migratory ones, those linked to the consequences of the energy transition and those linked to the dynamics produced by the phenomena linked to the advent of the new digital systems linked to communication but not only, which have profoundly changed human relations and the way individuals participate in the growth of the planet. These phenomena impose a path of revision of the methods so far proposed to research and architectural design, and introduce as an target the search for new reflections trying to involve beyond the aspects of the discipline, differently conjugated, also those of social, economic and environmental impact. This book is a collection of papers at international conferences and interventions elaborated before the advent of the virus, partly already published, written for distant themes and realities and at different time: the intention is to decline the same procedural method of intervention to different contexts and conditions. Abstract
Telling visions of possible worlds, foreshadowing a speculative and adaptive approach, just of the moments of difficulty, within a reality that was already in crisis before the spread of the disease. The writings are proposed according to a logical succession of topics and not according to a chronological succession but, precisely because they are inscribed within a complex, hybrid and fragmentary contemporaneity, they are an expression of the reality that surrounds us and they try to give response with the same speculative methodological approach to different contexts and situations.
