The complexity of the network is an important issue to be addressed in monitoring: thanks to a real time representation it is possible to rapidly detect network problems. In this work we present a tool, developed by LepidaSpA, for displaying real-time traffic between network nodes. The goal was to develop a tool that could provide an eye-catching network traffic visualization. LIMO (LIve MOnitor) offers a high-impact, web-viewable graphical interface that shows the amount of traffic flowing from one node to another on the LepidaSpA network. LIMO provides a simple web user interface that exploits Simple Network Management Protocol (SMNP) query results, a time series database and an open source metric analytics suite. The 3-tier architecture makes LIMO resilient and higly configurable. In conjunction with other traditional monitoring systems can be an effective and efficient way to get a first stage network troubleshooting.
