This paper presents a study on the reinforced concrete structures, their durability problems, their repair and restorations according to the preservation principles of structures and the repair principles of reinforced concrete structures. Strengthening is the technique of intervention in those structures which have a different behaviour from what was designed. This method is mainly used in structures that are expected to have damage or acceptable behaviour against seismic loads (such as large displacement between the top and the base, the damage of structural elements, etc.). This process is subject to almost all buildings built before the adoption of new design standards. The technique of strengthening of an item can be: passive or active depending on the way the loads are acting on the components added for strengthening.
