Abstract

The infrastructure sector is still looking for a standard system able to exploit the most recent advancement in the field of 3D information modelling. The lack of structured data on the subsurface utilities is an element of criticality that causes delays in the work scheduling and variations of the project during the construction phase. Within the GEO.works project, a BIM-based methodology is defined, thanks to the development and use of a collaborative platform for aggregating relevant data to support the design, maintenance and management phases for subsurface networks.
