The research programme wishes to document the influence that reinforced concrete has had on architecture since its introduction a little more than one hundred years ago, and to evaluate the possible espressive and technological applications of the material today, which although having dominated the history of construction during the twentieth century, has had to tread a difficult and often contradictory path. Numerous adaptations and functional innovations have improved concrete from numerous points of view, starting from a long innovative process that is not yet concluded. Today, perhaps more than even in the past, this material needs to take a step forward and its future depends on the technical, economie, cultural and expressive answers that a technological innovation could supply.

Abstract
The research programme wishes to document the influence that reinforced concrete has had on architecture since its introduction a little more than one hundred years ago, and to evaluate the possible espressive and technological applications of the material today, which although having dominated the history of construction during the twentieth century, has had to tread a difficult and often contradictory path. Numerous adaptations and functional innovations have improved concrete from numerous points of view, starting from a long innovative process that is not yet concluded. Today, perhaps more than even in the past, this material needs to take a step forward and its future depends on the technical, economie, cultural and expressive answers that a technological innovation could supply.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
