The development of labour law as a means of empowerment of workers in their relationship with employers has been a typical aspect of the Keynesian approach to economy, which prevailed until the 1970s. The following period, still ongoing, was characterized by neoliberal approaches, aiming at considering labour relations as ordinary market relations. To go back to the original approach social conflict is needed, which requires a restoration of national sovereignty to fight the European Union as a neoliberal apparatus. Abstract

Only then the possibility of a Europe of rights and solidarity is given.
