Recently have been developed some correlations between the parameters obtained from laboratory tests, not necessarily designed for stone materials. Some parameters used in the geomechanical classifications, especially the uniaxial compression strength, can be correlated with: Schmidt hardness, Shore scleroscope index, Impact strength index, Cone indenter index, P-waves velocity, Loss of volume and Slake durability index. In this study, we consider some of these correlations in order to evaluate their reliability.
