The technological developments that determined the networks’ extension to real objects and things, affected in a significant way architecture as well. The growing innovation of building components combined with the development of the Internet of Things, has led to the birth of smart buildings able to adapt themselves to the external conditions and to the needs of end-users, in view reduced consumption and optimized management. A field in which such opportunities offer potential new developments is that of fenestration; the possibilities offered by the integration of glazed components with intelligent sensors make concrete the developments of smart windows capable of autonomous and efficient management.
Le evoluzioni tecnologiche che hanno determinato l’estensione delle reti a oggetti e cose reali hanno avuto un impatto notevole anche in architettura. La crescente innovazione dei componenti di involucro unita allo sviluppo dell’Internet of Things, ha portato alla nascita di smart buildings capaci di adattarsi in maniera responsiva alle condizioni esterne e alle esigenze dei loro fruitori, a fronte di consumi ridotti e gestioni ottimizzate. Un ambito in cui tali opportunità offrono potenziali linee di sviluppo è quello della serramentistica; le possibilità offerte dall’integrazione di componenti vetrati con sensori intelligenti rendono concretizzabile la messa a punto di smart windows capaci di una gestione autonoma ed efficiente.
