This interdisciplinary contribution aims at tracing an Italian framework concerning neighborhood sport facilities: their diffusion, functioning, regulation and impact on society. By underlying an overall lack of both adequate structures and norms, the article then focuses on children's autonomy and independent mobility as an indicator of the national situation on physical activity levels, and it finally discusses some of the good practices and innovative experimentations which are being developed in Italy, despite all difficulties. Lastly, some strategies and possibilities are drafted for "filing the gaps" in the promotion of everyday physical activity - involving several disciplines: first of all, the realization of a national plan based on the construction of neighborhood sport facilities at a local level.

Abstract
This interdisciplinary contribution aims at tracing an Italian framework concerning neighborhood sport facilities: their diffusion, functioning, regulation and impact on society. By underlying an overall lack of both adequate structures and norms, the article then focuses on children's autonomy and independent mobility as an indicator of the national situation on physical activity levels, and it finally discusses some of the good practices and innovative experimentations which are being developed in Italy, despite all difficulties. Lastly, some strategies and possibilities are drafted for "filing the gaps" in the promotion of everyday physical activity - involving several disciplines: first of all, the realization of a national plan based on the construction of neighborhood sport facilities at a local level.I documenti in SFERA sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
