The electron transfer mediator is at core of the functioning of dye sensitized photoelectrochemical cells based on liquid electrolytes. Recent progresses and findings about one-electron quasi reversible couples based on metal complexes of Co(II), Cu(I) and Mn(III) used in conjunction with suitable dye sensitizers and counter electrode materials will be reported. When employed in appropriate conditions, the best metal complex mediators constitute a viable and often superior replacement to the classical iodide-triiodide couple.

Abstract
The electron transfer mediator is at core of the functioning of dye sensitized photoelectrochemical cells based on liquid electrolytes. Recent progresses and findings about one-electron quasi reversible couples based on metal complexes of Co(II), Cu(I) and Mn(III) used in conjunction with suitable dye sensitizers and counter electrode materials will be reported. When employed in appropriate conditions, the best metal complex mediators constitute a viable and often superior replacement to the classical iodide-triiodide couple.File in questo prodotto:
