This paper considers the fatigue behavior at low and medium cycles fatigue of butt welded joints made of S235 and S355 structural steel. The specimens were subjected to fatigue loading under displacement control with zero mean value. The results show that, in the medium and high cycles fatigue, despite the different in static behavior of the two materials the fatigue strength between the two types of steel is similar. However, at low cycles fatigue, the steel with a higher ultimate tensile strength presents a higher fatigue strength.
