In this essay the Author makes a first, critical evaluation on the implementation of Directive 2011/83/EU on consumer rights (Consumer Rights Directive, CRD) in the EU-Member States: by analysing how the new provisions have been integrated in the national private law systems and how they have been coordinated with the already existing prescriptions of consumer contract law; by verifying if, and until where, the overall goal of harmonising national laws pursued by the EU-Institutions has been effectively achieved; by evaluating the impact of the introduction of new rules on the national legal systems.
