In 2011, 10 years after the last campaign at Mondeval de Sora, the University of Ferrara has started the excavation of a new site in the Belluno Dolomites, Casera Staulanza (Zoldo Alto), located at 1681 m a.s.l. A preliminary analysis of the lithic assemblages allowed dating the site to the Late Epigravettian thus enhancing the relevance and importance of the discovery. In fact, Casera Staulanza is the first high altitude Epigravettian site to be excavated in the Veneto region.
Nel 2011 l’Università di Ferrara ha iniziato un nuovo scavo nell’area delle Dolomiti Bellunesi, a distanza di dieci anni dall’interruzione di quello di Mondeval. Il sito in questione è quello di Casera Staulanza (Comune di Zoldo Alto), già oggetto di numerose segnalazioni, posto a 1681 m s.l.m. L’analisi preliminare dei reperti recuperati ha permesso di datare il sito all’Epigravettiano recente. Questo conferisce una notevole importanza al rinvenimento, trattandosi del primo sito riferibile a questo periodo scavato in alta quota nel territorio veneto.
