Period: 48 months (from 01/12/2011 to 30/11/2015) Project n°: 098/GR-2009-1596647 Funded by: Ministero della Salute-Bando Giovani Ricercatori 2009-Development of a high efficient method, based on the technology of surface plasmon resonance(SPR)-Imaging combined with the use peptide-nucleic acids (PNA) probes, enabling the identification of point mutations without amplification by polymerase-chain reaction (PCR). The accuracy and the detection efficiency make this approach suitable for non-invasive prenatal diagnosis based on the analysis of the fetal-free cell DNA within the peripheral blood of pregnant women.
