Research in the field of design and building methods for new school spaces upgraded toward a digital school is still in its infancy. ICT, digital instruments, smart spaces represent a challenge to relate school building’s and new school programs to knowledge of innovative teaching techniques, digital learning and tools technics, developed both in EU and in ex-EU countries. In accordance to Horizon 2020 and countries’ national digital agendas, School architecture should allow to acquire digital skills inside sustainable constructions thanks to the definition of new design theories methods to provide all students with appropriate digitally equipped spaces to their educational and professional process. A new generation school is working up, able to connect new digital technologies with an educational interaction between school stakeholders, in a school design based on smart spaces, flexible, adaptable, for personal or common activities.
